Low Carbon Extraction & Production

Natural stone has a major CO2 advantage over concrete, and many other man-made products, because the work to produce the stone  (and any carbon emitted during the production process) was done by the earth millions of years ago. So any CO2 that is emitted and counted for embodied carbon purposes is as a result of the cutting, processing and transporting the stone.

Carbon emissions are kept to a minimum during the extraction and production of our granite. In addition, the stone is transported by sea wherever possible, which has a much lower carbon footprint than road haulage.

We closely monitor carbon emissions during both the extraction & processing stage, and also during the transportation of our stone. We are able to provide full sourcing plans and carbon reporting from factory to the point of delivery.
